Dissatisfaction with the size and/or shape of our bodies can lead to chronic dieting, disordered eating, excessive exercise, and more. All of these activities disrupt our attunement to our bodies. We weren't born hating our bodies. We were taught that. Let's unlearn together. Trauma can be the kind of event that divides your life into two distinct parts, before and after.

It can also be prolonged, slowly eroding your trust in yourself and reality. Your experience doesn't need to fit into a specific category e.g. It can be difficult to feel at home in our bodies when we are consistently experiencing pain or discomfort. This is a space where you can fully experience all of your reactions (e.g., fear, anger, relief) to your diagnoses or lack thereof.

Therapy is a collaborative process through which we can explore change and rewrite your story. People often find relief from the experience of someone holding space for their pain and hope from a genuine, supportive relationship. Much of our suffering comes from a feeling of being alone in our pain.
