Jennifer Primeaux, LCPC, NCC, ATR is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Nationally Certified Counselor, and Registered Art Therapist, practicing in Wichita, Kansas. Jennifer provides services for teens and adults. Her work comes from a variety of settings such as: community mental health centers, foster care agency, outpatient substance abuse treatment, and nursing homes.

She has worked at the Veterans Affairs, FCS Counseling, and COMCARE of Sedgwick County. She is an art therapist and encourages the art making process for people that enjoy creative outlets. Artistic self-expression allows a person to use non-verbal images and symbols to take what is occurring on the inside and create images outside of himself or herself.

It is not necessary for the person to have artistic ability to participate in art therapy, but they must have a willingness to put forth effort into the process. The person can share what he or she feels comfortable disclosing about their artwork. She is passionate about helping adults and adolescents work through emotions and thoughts.

Online therapy, teletherapy, telehealth.
It goes by many different names, but what you call it doesn't matter as much as what is possible!
Online therapy is a new way to have a session with your therapist without going to the office.
Since the season of getting sick is here and this year we are especially conscious of germs, I want you to know about online therapy.
One of the greatest benefits of online therapy is that if you have symptoms that are contagious or want to stay as health as possible, it is best that you stay home, rather than come into the office and you don't have to miss your therapy appointment.
Depression can impact your sense of purpose, energy, focus, and connection with those you care about.
Different people can have different symptoms.
Symptoms of anxiety can be as diverse as the people who experience it.

Triggers to anxiety can include work situations, family, school, health, and other challenges.
While you may be feeling vulnerable due to the pregnancy loss, you also have an immense resilience and a desire to find normalcy in the chaos.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based practice used in therapy.
Our perceptions of past and present events and/or people, join with learned patterns of negative behavior, produces undesired outcomes in our lives.
CBT is based on several principles that involve recognizing one's own distortions in thinking, using techniques to cope with difficult situations, learning to face one's fears, and calming our minds to relax our body.
Not all CBT will use all of the same strategies.
As we work together, collaboratively, I will explain how this all works together in your personal experience(s).
Depression can impact your sense of purpose, energy, focus, and connection with those you care about.
Different people can have different symptoms.
Together, we can work to regain everything depression took from you!
I will help you look at the source(s) of your discomfort and work to rebuild and strengthen the parts of you that have been emotionally wounded.
Most often I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in my work with clients.
CBT is a researched-based and well proven form of counseling treatment for these types of challenges.

During therapy, you can talk openly about any feelings or thoughts.
A supportive therapeutic relationship can help you examine, embrace, and release the pain that accompanies grief.
While you may be feeling vulnerable due to the loss, you also have an immense resilience and a desire to find normalcy in the chaos.
