ATP Counseling
I am a Veteran of the Armed Forces, Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW), and Licensed Master Addiction Counselor (LMAC). I completed my Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Kansas State University and Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California. The graduate degree was focused on clinical mental health with a sub-concentration in working with Military Servicemembers, veterans, and their families.

I am a strong believer that people change everyday, and this is best achieved from a teamwork approach between the clinician and client. I incorporate a strength-based approach; meaning, I am not asking, "What is wrong with you?" but more "What is right with you?" I treat various forms of trauma, anxiety, depression, any forms of addiction (internet, substances, food, etc), adjustment disorders, personality disorders, and defiant/conduct disorders.

Several treatment modalities are utilized to ensure each person is provided the individualized care he or she deserves.
Services
CBT is based on the foundation that our thoughts control how we feel, which in turn affects our behaviors.
Because we cannot control how others feel and behave, this treatment modality helps us learn how to control our own responses from external queues.
CBT is widely known for correcting cognitive distortions.
For example, black and white thinking, catastrophizing, personalization, blaming, and paranoia.
EMDR is an evidenced-based, protocol driven treatment.
Through use of bilateral stimulation of the brain, distressing memories or thoughts are decreased in both intensity and frequency.
