However you arrived here, I hope you'll feel welcome and stay a while to look around. You'll find information about my therapy practice and I hope as a result you'll discover whether we'd work well together. I enjoy meeting new people of all ages and helping them find creative ways to deal with life's challenges. And I love hearing back from previous clients about their current situation, especially when I hear that they are thriving!

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist, with an office in beautiful Fairhaven, Bellingham, Washington. I hold a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Santa Barbara, CA. My undergraduate degree in education and child psychology is from the University of London, U.K. I am also a Certified Master Practitioner of NLP and a Certified Practitioner of Ericksonian Hypnosis.

Clients say they appreciate my honesty, humor, patience, creative thinking, direction, intelligence and ability to connect. I also appreciate those character traits in my clients.
Services
I offer a range of services using an approach that is often referred to as humanistic or a "client-centered" model.
This means that you and I are on an equal footing - I may have particular knowledge, but I am not an expert on your life.
My expertise is in connecting with you in your experiences, providing a safe place to process difficult feelings, and guiding you to greater clarity on why you do what you do.
Many clients are able to use their out-of-network benefits for counseling services and get reimbursed by their insurance company.
I will provide you with a copy of a superbill which you can submit for possible reimbursement.
I also encourage you to verify your out-of-network benefits prior to your session.
If you have access to HRA/FSA/HSA funds, I accept those as forms of payment.
My full fee is due from you on the day of our appointment.
All insurance companies require some personal information to process a claim, including a mental health diagnosis.
All issues discussed in the course of therapy are strictly confidential.
I respect your right to privacy and hold information that you discuss in strict confidence.
By law, information concerning treatment or evaluation may be released only with the written consent of the person treated or in the case of a person under 13, that person's parent or guardian.
However, the law requires the release of confidential information in three situations: 1) reported or suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable adult; 2) serious suicidal potential; or 3) threatened harm to another person.
Call me at (360) 255-3567 and leave a message with your name, number and best time to reach you.
My office is at 1106 Harris Ave., Suite 301 (in Finnegan's Alley).
If the front door is locked please text me and I will come down to let you in at our appointment time.
Otherwise, please wait quietly in the waiting room at the other end of the third floor.
For Telehealth clients our sessions will be via the computer and can be scheduled at a time convenient for you.
You will be sent a link before our session.
When you start individual therapy you may be finding it difficult to connect with others, feeling lonely or misunderstood.
Perhaps anxiety is getting in your way.
People often tell me they are struggling to create meaning in their lives.
Maybe you don't even know what's wrong but you just don't feel like you're living an optimal life and you're ready to change that.
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I can't tell you what meaning your life should have, but I can help you explore the purpose that feels right for you.
