Services
TCC serves families, couples, and individuals seeking to replace suffering with hope and compassion through clinical and professional excellence.
Our therapists use a family systems approach to work with individuals, couples, families, adults, teens, and children.
We specialize in relationship repair, healing and growth toward mental, emotional, physical and spiritual wellness.
All of us would be honored to serve you and/or your family towards the wellness you are striving for.
That there is hope and a way to Traverse through the hardest things in life and arrive at the other side more healthful and whole.
Coaching & Therapy have many similarities, but there are also some distinct differences.
At the root of counseling is the treatment of a mental health or relationship issue that is causing significant distress for a person or a family.
Coaching, on the other hand, presumes that an individual or family are actually doing fairly well but are in need of some extra guidance and support.
One way to describe the difference is comparing a physical therapist to a football coach.
A physical therapist may help an athlete when they are recovering from an injury or issue that is causing a decline in normal activities.
Chronic illness is a family experience, one that is shared by all.
The demands of changed roles and routines and caregiving can cause guilt, anger, sadness, fear, anxiety and depression.
Traverse Counseling & Consulting guides can help families understand these normal reactions to the stress of chronic illness and how to manage them, improving communication, and strengthening your coping and problem-solving skills.
You will better understand the ways in which families can get stuck and strategies for coming together as a family, finding new meaning in your journey through illness.
Although Parenting is often difficult for all of us, it is particularly difficult in families where there has been conflict between parents.
Parent Coaching is a service that supports individuals in recovering their parenting skills even when having great difficulty working with the other parent.
Parent Coaching is different from Co-parenting Counseling in that, Co-Parenting Counseling involves both parents while Parent Coaching involves only one parent assigned to an individual Parent Coach.
At Traverse Counseling & Consulting our Parent Coaches work with clients to support them in being less reactive to the other parent and their children, helping them differentiate parent-to-parent conflict from issues with their children.
Do you feel prepared for these changes and equipped to have the necessary courageous conversations with your loved one and your family members?
Do you want to be pro-active, and not wait until something critical happens to make a plan?
All families experience changes in life, as members age.
Families can get stuck in reactive patterns, where anxiety, grieving, hurt and anger may show up, as their elderly loved one changes with time.
It is important for families to courageously lead through this transition to ensure safety, wellness and agency.
