Dr. Nair is a Licensed Psychologist and has provided psychotherapy to a wide range of patients since 2001. She has worked as a psychologist in many locations including inpatient psychiatric units, HIV/AIDS service organizations and outpatient group practices. Dr. Nair stresses the importance of honest communication and clear boundaries within the therapeutic setting.
Most often, the initial benefits of psychotherapy include the lessening of depressive symptoms and a reduction in overall discomfort or worry. For many individuals, the therapeutic process allows them to understand the causes of unhealthy behavior, recover from traumatic events, establish healthy decision-making, improve overall self-worth and create more positive relationships with others.
Dr. Nair's treatment approach primarily relies on the techniques of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT).
