Whether you are making your first journey into therapy or have worked with a therapist before, I wish you well in your search for the Provider who can best fit your needs. As a licensed psychologist in Bellevue, Washington, I offer psychotherapy services to adult clients from diverse backgrounds struggling with a variety of issues. My primary areas of interest include depression, anxiety, difficult life circumstances, grief and loss.
I also enjoy working with older individuals who may be struggling with issues that later life can bring. My first goal as your therapist is to help you feel comfortable and safe in sharing your personal story and the struggles you are currently facing. I will then work with you to clarify and actualize personal goals. I hold an optimistic, constructive view of human beings and believe in the individual's substantial capacity to be self-determining.
At the same time, I recognize that we all face difficult situations at times over which we have little control, and in those instances I will strive to assist you in moving toward a place of inner peace and acceptance.

Clients are often nervous about what to expect from therapy, particularly if they have never met a psychologist or have been in therapy before.
At the initial session, a main goal is to get to know each other a bit.
I will ask questions about your concerns and about what you hope to gain from therapy.
This is also an opportunity for you to ask questions of me.
I welcome these questions and will do my best to answer them, including those about my education, experience, or background.

I accept Premera, Aetna, and First Choice insurance plans, in addition to traditional Medicare.
Unfortunately, I am no longer able to accept the AARP-sponsored Medicare-hybrid plans such as Medicare Complete or Medicare Advantage.
I also welcome individuals who are wishing to pay for therapy privately, and encourage clients to consider this option, as it affords a higher level of confidentiality and security than going through one's insurance.
To make payments on your account, I encourage the use of Zelle whenever possible, which transfers funds directly from your account into mine and does not impose a transaction fee.
