Taylor McCarrey is a trained therapist with over a decade of experience working with children as young as 4 and adults of all ages. He has worked in a variety of settings across the country, including hospitals, state agencies, community mental health centers, residential centers, in-home, and private practice. Taylor integrates his work within a variety of cultural contexts and ways of being.

Taylor is a firm believer in the power of the individual to overcome, regardless of where they might find themselves in any given moment. He believes that there is strength to be found and created, and that any of us can both actualize and discover that strength. Wherever you find yourself, it can be easy to feel alone, confused, overwhelmed, and under-prepared.

The decision to start seeing a therapist can be the first step to taking back control of the life you're living, either because of, or in spite of the challenges you are facing.
Services
Every person you come into contact with represents an entire history lived, roads traveled down that inform their approach to the world and everything in it.
Taylor's roads have been informative and beautiful, teaching him the importance of the journey as well as the destination.
Taylor's journey began in Southern California, where he attended school with students from all over the world, making friends with people whose birthplaces and cultural anchors ranged from Central and Southeast Asia to countries throughout South America.

Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice will result in a fee up to the entire amount of the session.
These two words can look a little intimidating, and trying to look them up on Wikipedia might not provide a good, clear answer as to what these things are and how they relate to therapy.
However, I think they are an important part of the therapeutic process, and it's worth knowing what they are and where they come from.
Hermeneutics is the study of context, initially applied to texts.
Essentially, the idea is that a hermeneutic understanding of, say, To Kill a Mockingbird, comes from knowing the cultural context of the piece.
