Hi there, my name is Silvina (she/ her/ ella) and I support folks to heal deep emotional wounds that come from past anxiety, trauma, stress and help cultivate/ listen to their inner voice as their inner compass. I offer individual sessions and group Modern Breathwork sessions in person and online.
My approach is holistic and eclectic, often pulling from the following therapeutic modalities to support people: mindfulness, breath awareness, body-awareness/ embodiment/ somatic/ Brainspotting, trauma-informed, connection between thoughts- emotions- actions.I'm also versed with autoimmune issues, gut issues, and chronic illness. I am not a 'purist' in my approaches, as I weave and pull from my experience/ education as I see fit in the therapeutic/ healing space.
My biggest asset is to 'hold space' for you so that you safely feel seen, heard, and validated. I am gentle, yet direct, a balance between holding you accountable and providing nurturing. I have a keen ability to explain complicated things into easy to understand concepts while pointing out overarching patterns or belief systems.

Services
I was raised in Latin America and moved to the US in my preteens- a very crucial and difficult time for anyone to experience a such a big culture shock.
I have experienced very stressful and difficult times that come from living in a multi-cultural family with complex trauma; this has yielded to having compassion and empathy for others.
I have specialized training and experience working with PTSD and complex trauma, drug/alcohol issues, family discord, stress, and anxiety.
I received a Master of Clinical Social Work from University of Pennsylvania in 2011.

I am a licensed psychotherapist (Licensed Clinical Social Worker/ LCSW) and trauma-informed Therapist.
I have a very heavy background in Trauma, somatic practices, and different breathwork modalities.
I always encourage looking at the whole picture of wellness- physical, emotional/ mental, spiritual, systemic/ oppressive, etc.
I am a firm believer that showing up with you and 'holding' a safe space for you to unravel/ experience/ express whatever you need to, is the most important attribute of the therapeutic relationship.

The term "breathwork" is often used loosely to describe a breathing modality that uses your breath as a means to fulfill or shed something.
Today, you can find many different forms of breathwork, however, people don't usually talk about the history.
This is my attempt to shed some light on the difference between ancient and modern breathwork modalities.
There are two different types of breathwork- ancient breathwork also known as "pranayama" and modern breathwork.
Ancient breathwork as the name implies, is very old!

Modern Breathwork is a powerful gateway to reset the nervous system, release tension and emotions that are not helpful to you in this moment.
