I am a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) and licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) providing counseling services in South Orange County. If you are visiting my site, you are likely looking for a counselor to help you or someone you care about. For some the thought of being in therapy can be overwhelming, scary, or anxiety-provoking.
For others, it may be a relief to feel that you are taking the first step towards resolution. Change is never easy, and it takes courage to work on yourself, a relationship, or family problem. Sometimes life can be tough, and it can be helpful to have a therapist to help explore and process what you are going through. My hope is to create a safe environment where you feel comfortable to share and explore your deepest thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
My education includes a degree in psychology, a degree in counseling, and a specialized certificate in play therapy.

Services
I enjoy being able to help clients in their journey through life, whether it's working on a mental health issue, self-growth and exploration, parenting, communication problems within a relationship, needing someone to listen and process life's difficulties, or another area.
As a counselor I get to be in a unique position where I am able to watch people grow as they make changes in their life.
I feel honored to have people trust me to take part in this journey with them, and it's a position that I don't take lightly.

I am really passionate about helping couples regain their emotional connection, feel loved by their spouse, and restore their marriages.
My preferred approach is to use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which studies have shown is highly effective for counseling couples.
I work on helping couples identify the underlying issues that prevent them from feeling close to each other and to begin to feel more connected in their relationships and to be able to safely communicate.
Relationships can be difficult and many couples come to me ready to call it quits, experiencing deep emotional pain, or devastated by something that has just happened.

Counseling can provide a safe place for your teen to open up about the difficulties they are facing.
It can be hard if your teen is shutting you out, but you know something is wrong with them.
You're not alone; many parents struggle to know what to say or do to help their teen.
Even if you are doing a good job as a parent, you may find that your teen doesn't want to open up about everything, and it can help to have a counselor for them to talk to and work through things with.
My goal is to help your teen be able to handle the problems they are facing; learn new skills to cope; communicate and interact better with family and peers; improve their self-esteem and confidence; and reduce behavioral problems at home.

My approach in treating clients depends on the issue the client wants to address in counseling, the age of the client, and the time-frame the client has to address the problem.
Because psychotherapy is individualized, I feel it's important for me to meet my clients where they are at in their own healing or exploratory process.
When working with young children, I use both a non-directive and directive play therapy approach.
I work with children individually as well as together with their parents/caregivers and family.

My current rate is $150 per 50-minute session and $200 per 80-minute session with reduced rates potentially available depending on circumstances and openings.
Payment is due at each session by credit card, cash, or check.
Services for psychotherapy may be covered fully or partially by your health insurance.

It's your responsibility to find out what coverage you have and if it has any limits / limitations.
