Hi, I'm Janice Nardi, and you're reading this because some aspect of your life is not working as you would like. It might be an issue of self-esteem, a relationship challenge or crisis, or a life transition that has you stumped or hurting. I utilize solution focused therapies to help my clients achieve their goals efficiently and effectively. I maintain a private practice where I meet face to face with clients in both Brick and Manahawkin, NJ, and Online Counseling is also available.
Thinking that counseling might help is a good thought and I encourage you to follow through. I have been counseling for 25 years and I have a few specialties noted in the header above - each page has more detailed information I hope you find helpful. Services
Couples seek relationship and marriage counseling for a variety of reasons.
Among the most common are conflicts about sex, money, alcohol or drugs, parenting, in-laws, family tragedy, or infidelity.
With the exception of a family tragedy, or, infidelity, rarely has a couple presented with a current issue.
More often, the couples I work with have been struggling with their issues for a year or more and sometimes for many years.
While it's true most couples attempt to settle their troubles on their own, often the most difficult issues are left unresolved and pushed aside because something more important is needing attention in the relationship: an illness arises, a child needs extra time, work schedules collide, and the issue gets swept under the carpet.

Individual Counseling can help in a variety of ways.
Whether you are having difficulty reaching a goal or making a decision, experiencing sadness or anxiety facing a life transition, not being able to get past something from your past, realizing you're in trouble with alcohol or drugs more than you thought - or someone you love is, feeling overwhelmed by stress in your relationship, your family, or on the job, or, perhaps you've lost someone you loved, through a breakup, divorce, or death, and you are stuck in your grief.
