Philosophers, poets, religious and spiritual leaders, all talk about the human condition. But what does it mean for the rest of us? Everyone runs into situations that produce anxiety, depression, disappointment, a need to make difficult decisions, tension in relationships, and other "discomforts" that we wish would go away. Sometimes we figure out how to get through these situations on our own but sometimes we need a little help.

That's where we come in. HBH Counseling is a group of therapists dedicated to providing effective, evidence based therapy to help you to address life's situations, big and small. HBH Counseling offers outpatient individual, group, couples, and family therapy for adolescents and adults custom tailored to your unique situation and needs.

Using evidence based methods that promote self-empowerment we collaborate with you to create a truly personalized treatment program to help you take the next steps toward a fulfilling life.We keep our groups small - between 6 and 12 participants per group - so you can receive the personal attention that you deserve.
Services
Individual counseling is the most common form of counseling and typically what one thinks of when deciding to seek the help of a counselor.
We can help you identify your concerns and assist you in finding the best ways to cope with difficult situations by changing thoughts and behaviors that contribute to the problem or by finding constructive ways to deal with a situation that is beyond your personal control.
Relationship Counseling seeks to assist individuals in relationships to recognize and better manage unhelpful habits and repeating patterns that create stress within the relationship.
MY PHILOSOPHY: I'm often asked why people do the things we do and my best answer is because whatever it is we keep doing is working in some way.or at least we convince ourselves it's working.
So human beings keep doing things that are ineffective, hurtful, or just plain destructive to themselves or others until they realize they're getting nowhere fast.
To help you get off the giant hamster wheel of life I use several therapeutic techniques to raise your awareness of how you hinder your own personal satisfaction; help you change the way you think about yourself, others, and/or situations; increase your motivation to engage in changing your behavior and beliefs; and help you set and follow through on achieving personal goals.
MY PHILOSOPHY: Therapy is a delicate balance of acceptance and change.
I use a person-centered approach to create a validating environment in which a person can open up, feel genuinely cared for, and develop a trusting therapeutic relationship.
At the same time, I can help guide you through the complex process of change.
I can offer skills and techniques for improving your life in the short term while the work of learning how to change your thinking takes place.
I primarily practice Dialectical Behavioral Therapy(DBT), and also use techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
MY PHILOSOPHY: I regard myself as a humanistic counselor, with respect for all my clients.
I possess excellent listening skills and always check for clarification.
The counseling process works well when a bond is formed between the client and therapist, creating a safe and caring environment.
I am authentic across the age spectrum and view my clients with positive regard.
Through a combination of therapeutic techniques, I engage my clients in identifying their beliefs and collaboratively develop new coping mechanisms that address their concerns.
My specialty is DBT skills training groups for adults and adolescents.
Teaching mindfulness skills utilizing mediation and mindful awareness.
I am also certified as a Health Coach.
If you want to make lifestyle changes in your life that will improve your overall mental and physical health I work with your whole health body mind and spirit.
If you are overwhelmed and in emotional pain you have taken the first step towards change, learning new skills to manage your feelings and self compassion and acceptance.
