As a licensed psychotherapist with over 15 years in private practice, and a mother by embryo donation, . I offer expertise that is as personal and unique as the path you will embark upon. I specialize in women and couples seeking to create a family through reproductive medicine. I recognize the dedication required of individuals to commit to this uncertain journey.

The potential for great success and risk of sudden loss is constant. I also recognize the tenacity and resilience it takes to complete the journey. From a mindfulness orientation, I offer a place to process the experience, regardless of the outcome. Mindfulness offers a physical and emotional resting place. I offer techniques to cultivate self-compassion, build resilience, reduce stress and manage the whole process with the understanding that you are not alone.

I support women seeking motherhood through infertility treatments-in particular older women-by offering tools for mindful self-compassion, stress-reduction and managing catastrophic thoughts.
Services
I earned my Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from UCLA, and was awarded my license to practice psychotherapy in 2001.
Since 2004, I have offered individual psychotherapy, couples' and family counseling, and group therapy at my office in Huntington Beach, California.
After ten years of private practice, I was deep in my difficult journey to motherhood.
I sought training that would inspire me and provide an outlet for my grief and frustration.
I discovered the transformative experience of art and became a Certified Expressive Arts Practioner (CEAP) in 2013.
I support women-in particular older women-who are seeking motherhood through infertility treatments by offering tools for mindful self-compassion, stress-reduction and managing catastrophic thoughts.
For example, I teach skills to recognize and manage mood fluctuations resulting from hormone injections and the uncertainty of the two-week wait for the outcome of an IVF cycle.
Mindfulness' emphasis on bringing awareness to the moment is a freeing experience from regrets and losses along the way and preoccupation with the crucial outcome.
My training as a psychotherapist is rooted in the profession of social work, which honors the individual's dignity and worth with sensitivity to his or her cultural lens and values.
It is most important that my clients and I build a trusting connection so that we can identify their needs and build upon their strengths.
My approach is mindfulness-based, which honors one's unique experience of life by being present to it and accepting of it.
I draw from traditional methods of psychotherapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), with a mindfulness orientation (MBCT).
