I am a clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst, the Director of Counseling and Psychological Services at Haverford College and a supervising analyst at The William Alanson White Institute. I am also the co-editor of The Journal of College Student Psychotherapy, editor of the recently published book: "Making Our Ideas Clear: Pragmatism and Psychoanalysis", and an associate editor for Contemporary Psychoanalysis.
I earned my Ph. D. in clinical psychology with a health emphasis from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. Afterwards, I studied interpersonal psychoanalysis at the William Alanson White Institute in the process becoming a certified psychoanalyst. Additionally, I received a Masters in Philosophy (M.Phil) in Social and Developmental Psychology at the University of Cambridge.
My undergraduate work, also in Psychology, was at Clark University. The patient is the expert on their life. They know themselves better than anyone else. This means that one of my most important jobs is to learn from them in order to understand their experience as best as possible.

Services
I offer both one time and ongoing case consultation and supervision for psychotherapy and psychoanalytic cases.
Consultation can be a way of working past therapeutic impasse, helping tolerate difficult thoughts and feelings with patient's and to help deepen therapeutic work to be both more personal and effective.
Consultation is also useful for growing ones practice as well as developing and honing new clinical skills and techniques.
In consultation I blend interpersonal and relational thinking within a confidential, supportive and non-judgmental atmosphere.
