I have been a mental health therapist for 30 years. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a Parenting Coordinator (PC) and Registered Domestic Mediator. I enjoy working with children, teens and adults. My services include Counseling, Parenting Coordination, Custody & Parenting Time Evaluations. I grew up in Kentucky and moved to the Evansville area in 1990.
I graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College with a B.A. in Psychology. I received a M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kentucky. I attend 2-3 conferences a year to continue my education and stay up to date on current research and clinical techniques. In 2007, I published a book, "Choosing to Heal" which focuses on the treatment of child sexual abuse.
I provide seminars to parents, social workers, psychologists, medical and legal professionals about child sexual abuse. My services as a Custody & Parenting Time Evaluator extend past the local area. I have worked as an evaluator in Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Illinois.

Services
My experience of 30 years and ongoing training provide me with the ability to offer a wide range of areas to serve.
It is difficult for some people to attend in-office sessions due to geographical proximity, busy schedules and other life factors.
As a result, I do offer counseling by phone for individuals who otherwise cannot attend an in-office session after they have established themselves as a client.
I have the right however to assess whether this type of service is appropriate on a person by person basis.

A court order is required.
An evaluation report is submitted to the Superior Court and Attorney's regarding what is in the "best-interest" of the children.
If you are remarried or cohabitating then your spouse or partner will need to attend a minimum of one session in the office.
Signing releases of information forms for any collateral contacts requested by the evaluator.
This includes mental health/medical, school, daycare, employment or other records or contacts that seem necessary to make a recommendation.

A (PC) is a child-centered professional who helps conflicted co-parents make decisions in their children's best interests.
A PC usually functions with the court's authority for a specific period (a renewable two year agreement is common).
The PC is available on an as-needed basis to investigate a specific conflicted question, to meet with each parent (with or without their partners), the child(ren) and/or with the co-parents in order to help develop an outcome.
In those instances in which the parents cannot reach an agreement, the PC is empowered by the court to make a decision for the co-parents.
