Services
With over 20 years of training and practice in the field of Clinical Psychology, Marcie's extensive mental health experience serves as the foundation for all of her offerings.
Throughout her clinical career she has worked with people of diverse backgrounds to help them safely explore their internal experience, gain insight and awareness, and develop the skills and courage to make the changes they desire in their lives.
Her clinical work has always been informed by her complimentary interest in Mindfulness and Meditation and the ways in which ancient teachings offer another way of understanding ourselves and our experience, reducing suffering and finding joy.
I help my clients to look at their experiences in new ways and to imagine and create new possibilities for themselves.
Marcie offers an integrative approach to psychotherapy that is informed by ancient wisdom traditions and contemporary psychology.
Both are important and complimentary ways of exploring and understanding ourselves and developing ways to reduce suffering and increase joy and engagement in life.
Her approach reflects both the depth and breadth of her clinical experience and meditation practice, drawing on her training in insight-oriented approaches as well as mindfulness based and cognitive behavioral strategies.
Have you tried meditating on your own but felt discouraged and thought "My mind is just too busy, it's not for me"?
Rooted in ancient teachings, meditation practices offer an antidote to the constant stress and distraction of modern life.
They help us to reduce stress, anxiety and reactivity, increase attention, awareness, calm and clarity, and improve mood, communication, creativity and productivity.
These practices help us connect to our truest values and reach our fullest human potential.
Mindfulness helps us to bring greater awareness to our moment to moment experience and to be with it with greater openness and acceptance.
The benefits of Mindfulness and Meditation in the workplace are well documented and many of the most successful organizations including Google, General Mills, Intel, Aetna and Goldman Sachs, have incorporated them into their culture for years.
They include enhanced attention, focus, and creativity, reduced stress and anxiety and improved communication, resilience, and efficiency.
These benefits not only foster a more peaceful and collaborative work environment, but also result in increased productivity, decreases in health care costs and ultimately an increase in the bottom line.
I am not an in-network provider for any insurance company.
However, many of my clients are able to get reimbursed for sessions using out-of-network benefits.
Because each plan is different, I cannot guarantee that you will receive reimbursement, so it is important that you call your insurance company and find out what your specific plan covers before starting with a therapist.
First, you should ask your insurance company if you have out-of-network benefits for outpatient psychotherapy as part of your plan.
