People often experience blockages in their efforts to heal individually and/or restore their marriage and family relationships. After repeated and prolonged failures to generate satisfactory outcomes from traditional counseling (oftentimes over the course of several years), people typically become blocked and overwhelmed with chronic feelings of despair, discouragement, anger and hopelessness.

InterAct was formed to create breakthroughs for such individuals, families, and marriages. Established in 1994, InterAct began to incorporate experiential therapies with traditional counseling methods to forge rapid, powerful and permanent change in clients. The resultant change was so impactful and life-transforming for our clientele, that individual and marital restoration became the norm.

Building upon that success, InterAct partnered with Healing Hills in 2006, a beautiful and peaceful 125 acre horse farm located in the midst of the rolling hills and glacial lakes of upstate New York. The purpose was to provide an exclusive, safe, restful and relaxing environment in which individuals, couples and families could work towards healing, empowerment and full restoration.

The horses utilized by Interact Counseling have been hand selected or personally bred for their unique therapeutic qualities.
Our horse herd is designed to create an acceleration in the healing process particularly with those clients struggling with complex trauma, addictions, eating disorders and relational conflict.
I have had the opportunity to sit with Christopher Charleton, founder of InterAct, and hear him not only describe his treatment models, but also demonstrate them in a visual form that makes it possible for even non-clinical people to understand the childhood roots that underlie some of the most complex issues and addictions people face.
He has a unique combination of experience, skill and giftings which allow Him to do deep and challenging work which other therapists won't even touch.
Over the past year, I've been pleased to hear many firsthand accounts of accelerated progress from clients I've directly referred there, including one who told me that she made more progress in one week than in five years of counseling.
Our goal is to provide the solo practitioner with the ability to sustain continued growth in their client's mental health and not experience fall out due to frustrations regarding the lack of therapeutic progress gained.
Referring therapists are kept abreast of the intensive process and, when desired, incorporated into the intensive itself (usually via telephone consultation).
Our goal is to develop a "seamless process" wherein the intensive is seen as a "team effort" directed by the referring therapist to establish maximum gains on behalf of the client as expediently as possible.
