First let's acknowledge a truth. Taking the first steps toward seeking help can be scary. In my time as a therapist, I have learned to appreciate the courage required to pick up the phone, to ask for help and to ultimately walk into that therapy office for the first time. So if you find yourself here, considering therapy, congratulations on taking that first step.

That courage to feel vulnerable is a huge part of what can help to bring about change and growth, and it's a very real part of the battle. Now let's talk about how I can help you. In a nutshell, I work with survivors--survivors of physical and sexual abuse; survivors of psychologically damaging relationships; survivors of traumatic events. Survivors of life.

Because life is messy, and life is hard. And because some days, simply getting out of bed in the morning is a hard fought victory. I get it. I have years of experience in treating trauma, and I am trained and well-seasoned in TF-CBT, EMDR and DBT. Trauma is not always recognized for what it is, even by professionals.
Services
I absolutely love my work, and I feel incredibly honored to be able to walk alongside you as you become empowered to make meaningful change.
If there is a common thread in my work, it is the value I place upon the therapeutic relationship, our relationship as we work together.
I view therapy as a collaboration, and in my experience, the most meaningful change occurs within that context.
You alone are the expert on you.
My role is to support you, to hear your story and to offer the expertise to help you gain the insight and skills needed to reach your goals.
I offer both in office face to face sessions and HIPAA-compliant, secure telehealth sessions.
At this time, telehealth sessions are offered only to residents of Tennessee or residents of other states who are physically present in Tennessee at the time of the session.
I am currently offering both private pay and out of network insurance sessions.
I am not currently an in network insurance provider, a decision which was fueled by a desire to provide the highest quality of care possible based on treatment decisions made between you and me, not on treatment decisions made by your insurance company.
The National Child Traumatic Stress Network is a wonderful website full of wonderful information about the effects of trauma on children, resources for parents, and helpful links.
It is well worth exploring.
A Terrible Thing Happened, by Margaret M. Holmes.
Recommended as a book for helping to normalize children's reactions to trauma and to increase their understanding of the effects of trauma.
The Whole Brain Child: 12 Revolutionary Strategies to Nurture Your Child's Developing Mind, by Daniel J. Siegel.
