Sarasota Grief Counseling provides experienced bereavement care to people who are grieving a loss and to anyone in need of counseling services. Most people find themselves needing help with tough emotions at some point in their lives, especially surrounding the loss of a loved one. We offer the full range of professional counseling services for individuals, couples, children, families, and groups in methods that include Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman Couples Therapy, and Art Therapy, among others.

Grief is not a mental disorder-it is a normal, natural response to loss or trauma. However, sometimes grief is misdiagnosed as depression, anxiety, or other conditions, leading to wasted time and unsuccessful treatment. If you have suffered a loss and have found other treatment to be ineffective, consider seeking the care of a certified grief counselor.

Sarasota Grief Counseling was founded in 2009 with the mission of bringing comprehensive bereavement care to the Sarasota-Bradenton area.

There are many counseling styles that therapists use in treating their clients.
Each style provides its own distinct framework that your therapist uses to understand and help you interpret your experiences, thoughts, and emotions.
Understanding these methods can give you greater confidence as you search for a therapist who meets your needs.
Sarasota Grief Counseling predominantly uses four distinct styles of therapy with clients: Art Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy (or EFT), Gottman Method, and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.
