Kip Williams Psychotherapy
Please note: For health and safety, I am conducting all therapy sessions online by video until further notice. I can provide a safe and supportive space for you to talk about important life experiences, including past trauma and current challenges. I want to help you understand your emotions better, make use of the resources that are available to you, and take steps for personal growth as you define it for yourself.

As a gay therapist, I specialize in working with LGBTQ+ clients to heal from shame and internalized stigma so we can live from a place of authenticity and connection.
Services
I understand that it can be very difficult to ask for help, so I meet my clients with understanding, compassion, and appreciation for your courage.
I see therapy as an opportunity for you to explore the personal meanings of your experience, work through pain and loss, open up the heart, gain new tools, and take steps for real change in your life.
With this in mind, I will partner with you to create a relationship that is both supportive and challenging.
In therapy sessions, I follow your lead and assist you to deepen and investigate your experience.
My standard fee for individual therapy is $175 for a 50-minute session.
Please contact me if you are interested in working together but cannot afford the full fee.
I am sometimes able to offer a fee reduction on a case-by-case basis.
If you have a PPO, you may be able to request partial reimbursement for fees from your insurance provider.
I can provide you with a monthly statement of services to submit a claim.
Most of my clients who submit claims have been reimbursed 30-50% of their fees.
I recommend that you check with your health plan administrator to find out how they handle reimbursement for out-of-network mental health services.
I earned my MA in Integral Counseling Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies in 2013.
While in school, I served as the Interim SF Crisis Services Manager for The Trevor Project, a nonprofit organization that provides crisis intervention and suicide prevention services for LGBTQ+* youth across the country.
I also completed a one-year clinical traineeship at Queer LifeSpace in the Castro before I graduated.
The focus of my training was on existential-humanistic therapy for gender and sexual minorities.
