Just as our physical bodies move toward healing, I believe that our minds and spirits also move toward health after being wounded.
Because "one size" does not fit all, I use a variety of therapeutic techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-oriented therapy, cognitive processing therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR).
I believe that counseling is a collaborative effort.
If we agree to work together, we will spend the first few sessions identifying, assessing, and clarifying your areas of concern, and developing treatment goals.

Why seek out a counselor?
The scariest part for many in seeking counseling is fearing that nobody will be able to understand what you're going through.
It is important to put your search for a counselor into the proper perspective.
If you were sick, you would seek out a doctor.
If you were dealing with a physical injury, you would seek out a physical therapist.
Difficult life circumstances affect your mind and soul, as well as your body.
Going into counseling does not mean that you are "crazy."

I have provided workshops on many subjects to companies and organizations across the Puget Sound region.
Once a client identifies a topic to be presented, the workshop can be adapted to one to two hours, or to half- or full-day retreats.
I have conducted many crisis interventions in community businesses and organizations.
Sizes of groups have ranged from four to forty people.
Reasons for being invited in to meet with employees have been to deal with the death of an employee (anticipated or sudden), a violent crime committed in the workplace, or any workplace conflict or incident that was upsetting to employees.

Within you will find a list of counseling referral resources of trusted colleagues along with book lists under 5 categories that I have developed over time from my own reading along with suggestions from clients and group participants.
I am always interested in hearing about other resources that people find helpful.
