After earning her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Florida, she earned her Master of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University.
She is a former teacher and has worked with children for over twenty years.
Amanda uses a variety of approaches in her therapy practice, from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to play therapy to art therapy.
She is also trained to work with clients using neurofeedback intervention to train the brain for optimum performance.
My son was 4 at the time when I brought him to see Amanda.
He was acting out a lot at preschool, but not exhibiting the same behaviors outside of school, and when we tested him he had slight ADHD symptoms.
We decided to try out neurofeedback since it could only help him.
As the sessions went by his behavior got better and better.
We haven't done neurofeedback in almost a full year and his behavior is phenomenal.
I truly believe that it helped him.
A friend of mine referred me to Amanda several months ago.
They say family is your anchor during rough waters.
But what happens if family problems are the trigger for the rough waters in your life?
Family counseling serves as a haven to identify, discuss, and explore resolutions for a variety of family difficulties that prevent you from maintaining healthy relationships.
Each family counseling session is held in a calming and comfortable space to encourage openness, objectivity, and the absence of judgment.
A therapist works with your family to evaluate problems and understand each member's perspective.
There's no such thing as a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy.
When you're struggling with stress, anxiety, or any other mental health issue, it's essential to find counseling services that fit your needs.
The help you need is available at Neurofeedback & Counseling Center of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg.
Our counseling sessions are designed to improve mental health by meeting clients where they are.
