In fact, there are a lot of things that a magic wand could fix. If you let your mind wander, you can probably come up with a long list of life things that need to be addressed. You find yourself wishing the to-do list away, catching sight of an approaching deadline, and wondering if that pile of laundry is clean or dirty? While I have what we jokingly call "alphabet soup" after my name, my team and I are just like you!

So from here, just call me Tara! Each one of our counselors operates as part of our family at DFC and provides a unique experience tailored toward your needs! Whether you are 2 or 92 and looking to talk or have hands-on therapy, we are here when you are ready! Give us a call today to talk more about what you are looking for to take the next step toward relief!.
Services
That first call can be overwhelming, so you may start here exploring our website to learn about us.
While there are often a lot of questions about me, this practice, and the team (all of which I will answer), I want to stress that your time at our office is about you and your needs.
Counseling is to meet the goals that you have.
We often wear pants and, 9 times out of 10, with flip flops because we want to be comfortable - quite honestly, we end up sitting on the floor or a yoga ball with you.
I personally see children and adolescents ages 2 through 18 and their families.
A sidekick's role is to provide support to the main superhero; this support can consist of guidance, feedback, supplies, humor, and even just someone to confide in.
I've had several years of education to become a sidekick.
I've earned a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in psychology with a focus on risk, resilience, and prevention, and then went on to complete a second Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
I've also received extra training in trauma-focused approaches and emotion-focused therapy, and am currently working towards credentialing in Animal Assisted Play Therapy with the International Institute of Animal Assisted Play Therapy.
Life comes with unexpected twists and turns that can leave us confused and unsure what our next steps should be.
Your story and your challenges are unique to you, and I'm here to help you remove the road blocks that prevent you from living your best life.
I love working with children, adolescents, individual adults, and couples.
There's no "one size fits all" in counseling, and we will work together to find the tools to help you move forward toward a healthier self and stronger relationships.
Counseling is my second career.
My quote from my namesake was a little harder to find than HP's, but I found a great one by Harley Quinn: "In my life, I've lived, I've loved, I've lost, I've missed, I've hurt, I've trusted, I've made mistakes, but most of all, I've learned."
I continue to do all those things, mainly because I'm still a young pup who is growing.
I'm a Blue Merle Great Dane and have some "cool colors, " at least that's what I hear a lot!
I wasn't a rescue, in a sense, like the other dogs in our family have been.
I love helping my clients find the light in their life.
As the fourth dog in my family to be certified in Animal Assisted Play Therapy, I'm now the oldest and helping train my Great Dane siblings.
Abbey, Bode, and Lennon taught me so much about life and helping children that I look forward to being the teacher now to Chewbarka and Howly Quinn.
I'm a two-year-old true rescue mix.
Tara had my DNA looked at, and I came back as your typical "Great American Golden Fox Hound Retriever Pyrenees, " but like I said, I'm a rescue!
