Redeemer Counseling was co-founded by Rachel and Michael Blackston in 2011 in a one-room office space at University Presbyterian Church in East Orlando. We have since grown to multiple locations throughout Central Florida with a talented team of counselors committed to clinical competency through a faith-based perspective. The name Redeemer is deeply embedded in our own story.
To redeem is to buy or win back, to be freed from what distresses or harms. We have seen God redeem the broken places in our lives and would consider it an honor to journey with you in your process of redemption. Whether you are struggling with disappointment, unfulfilling relationships, addiction, betrayal, anger or grief, we want to be a voice of grace and hope.
We provide a warm, confidential environment that enables you to open up about life's hardest places. We integrate the body, heart and mind, staying current with best clinical practices, to foster comprehensive healing. We are a full-service counseling practice that serves the greater Orlando community.

Counseling is a collaborative process between you and your therapist.
It involves discussing the presenting issues that led you to seek help as well as pursuing the deeper, underlying factors that have contributed to the problem.
We also formulate practical solutions to help you achieve your treatment goals.
Counseling is normally conducted on a weekly basis for a 50-minute session.
Although this process can be psychologically challenging at times, you will do so in a safe and nurturing environment.

I came to Redeemer Counseling broken and wounded, without hope or any real understanding of how to rebuild my life.
Through God's grace, and my counselor's patient guidance, I have a much clearer picture of my past, strategies and knowledge for the present, and hope to fulfill my God-given destiny for my future.
Redeemer Counseling has been life-changing for my family.
My husband and I have learned how to communicate, resolve conflict, and coach our children through their anger and anxiety.
In 14 years of marriage, we have never experienced a greater sense of connection and peace in our household.

We desire counselors who are committed to their Christian faith and who align with our core values.
We value hiring counselors who have done the hard work of engaging their own stories, and who are committed to life-long learning and growth, both personally and professionally.
We believe that God has designed the church to be the central place for God's people to grow and heal.
We are fortunate to work alongside the local church by offering counseling on site to church members and the surrounding community.
