Courage doesn't happen when you have all the answers. It happens when you are ready to face the questions you have been avoiding your whole life. Whether you're feeling inundated by challenging life experiences, navigating life transitions, or struggling with a relationship that's depleting your personal resources, I welcome the opportunity to work with you.
You don't have to figure this out on your own. The fundamental value of therapy is being able to speak with an empathic person about what is happening in your life. It is an opportunity to be heard and recognized in the midst of whatever is occurring for you. My priority is to offer you a safe and nonjudgmental environment where together, we can work toward identifying and overcoming the stumbling blocks that are hindering your potential for healing and growth.
My goal is to help you find meaning and fulfillment in your life, and to help you cultivate a level of resiliency that you can use to find your way through life's challenges.

Knowing yourself, and believing that within you is the capacity to create happiness, success, contentment, and growth, is at the heart of personal change.
I see this as the focus of our work together.
I view the counseling process as a collaborative effort; together we will set the goals for counseling and work toward meeting those goals.
With empathic support and understanding comes the opportunity to develop awareness and insight around your perceptions of yourself, your relationships, and the world around you.

For Women who have lost their Mothers through death, illness, separation, or estrangement.
When a mother dies, a daughter grieves.
And then her life moves on.
She does, thankfully, feel happiness again.
But the missing her, the wanting her, the wishing she were still here-I will not lie to you, although you probably already know.
That part never ends.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor/Therapist in Washington DC.
My practice is located in Dupont Circle.
I work with adult who are struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship / marriage issues, trauma, and life transitions among other things.

One plus one does not equal two.
When we decide to join together as a couple, we invest part of ourselves in order to create a powerful and important new entity.
This entity becomes the vessel that holds all of our hopes, dreams, and desires.
But, as many of us discover, relationships don't always work.
Circumstances begin to reveal to us that the friendship is not what we expected or that our partner is not who we imagined them to be.
Disappointment, anger, and fear begin to replace the initial dream.
