Central DuPage Pastoral Counseling Center
Our priority is providing the best in therapeutic care while welcoming all with compassion, understanding and hospitality. As a non-profit organization, we have several affordable tracks to help you manage the cost of counseling. See Rates & Insurance for more info. Life changes without warning. Sometimes you need more than a friend to help you work through a tough issue.

Trained professionals can guide you through important life decisions, support you as you navigate challenging relationships, and help you discover your own resiliency in the face of adversity. And sometimes, you just need the confidence of knowing you are working with a professional. We have services for children as young as 3 all the way through young adulthood including a specially designed therapy room conducive to play therapy and the needs of children.

In addition to counseling, we offer psychological assessments, career guidance, spiritual direction, and workshops that educate and equip participants with life skills.
Services
In general, our therapists treat most psychological disorders and depending on training, use a variety of methods and techniques.
The staff biographies detail the types of concerns each therapist addresses and the methods they use.
Our counseling staff complete training in both Christian theology and behavioral health disciplines.
Most therapists have received specialized training in areas of their interest such as marriage and family or addictions and use a variety of treatment modalities such as Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, etc.
Play Therapy is a powerful tool for addressing cognitive, behavioral and emotional challenges.
Play is our first language and just as adults use words to communicate, children use play to express thoughts and feelings that might otherwise remain hidden.
Our therapists are trained in a variety of play therapy techniques that can help children process their experiences and develop more effective strategies for managing their worlds.
Socialization skills are critical to making friends, succeeding in school and later in life, getting and keeping a job.
Dr. Alcorn is co-founder of the Central DuPage Pastoral Counseling Center and currently serves as President of the Endowment.

She uses a variety of therapeutic methods and often combines them with Mindfulness practices.
I deeply desire to help you grow, whether through insight about yourself, or in finding emotional, spiritual, or relational health.
One of my therapeutic goals is to provide you with the space and freedom to be authentic and vulnerable.
I believe there is power in being present with someone, sitting with them in the heaviest of moments.
I hope to provide an environment and presence where you can share and process your disappointments and pain, while also making room to explore your hopes and dreams for the future.
The Central DuPage Pastoral Counseling Center considers the integration of theology with the practice of behavioral science to be fundamental to our mission.
As pastoral counselors, our staff are trained in both fields.
This dual perspective allows us to uniquely serve church congregations and parishes in our community.
The churches affiliated with CDPCC trust our clinical expertise while also valuing the Center as a professional and theologically sensitive place to refer.
In addition, our clients can heal and grow in an atmosphere that respects their faith tradition should they wish to bring that dimension into the process.
