The Paterson Counseling Center is a comprehensive multi-faceted medical facility specializing in the treatment of conditions and symptomology associated with the use of illicit substances. Founded in 1970, PCCI continues to be a pioneer in addiction recovery and life management systems. Employing a partnership based approach to working with clients that is supportive and nurturing with a significant focus on problem management and intervention.

PCCI is located in the heart of the Great Falls district in historic downtown Paterson. There are 40 full time staff associates covering every major field from internal medicine to counseling and mental health. Associates are required to be certified and credentialed for all care rendering services in addition to undergoing an intensive internal training and certification program.

Services
At PCCI we offer a full range of Methadone Maintenance services including a phased in detoxification approach.
We closely monitor symptoms for possible reaction and side affects and our medical staff makes adjustments as necessary.
Each client is assigned a counselor and a nurse and a custom tailored treatment plan is devised that is aimed at stabilizing short term medical needs while focusing on long term medical strategies.

The advent of more successful drug therapies has greatly improved the quality of life for HIV+ clientele.
At PCCI we have tailored our counseling and treatment approach for clients living with HIV.
Our emphasis is on providing clients with the coping mechanisms and prioritization skills that will assist them in managing the complexities of scheduling medications, monitoring symptoms, and strengthening their physical and mental health.
We provide assistance in coordinating care and services with traditional health care and social services agencies.
The Needle Exchange Treatment Initiative (NETI) funds medication-assisted and other treatment services for New Jersey residents who are indigent with an opiate addiction, with a particular emphasis on providing access to treatment for individuals referred by Syringe Access Programs (SAP).
Exemptions to regulatory requirements regarding the prescribing and dispensing of medications to treat opiate dependence, such as the provision of treatment for persons under 18 years of age, shall be made only in accordance with Federal guidelines.
Free treatment is available for those seeking an alternative treatment path to recovery from opiate use.
Suboxone therapy is a safe alternative to methadone that is being offered to qualifying clients in recovery under the NETI program referenced previously within this site.
In order to receive free treatment you must meet eligibility requirements and seek treatment via a mobile treatment van for services.
