These are some of the many signs of depression. Talk to someone before serious problems develop that impact your quality of life and the lives of those around you. Counseling gives us a space to explore what we are thinking and worrying about without judgement or retribution. It can help us better understand ourselves, our choices and our motivations.

It gives us the tools and information to help create change in our lives. A good counselor can facilitate, support and empower us to reach our mental health goals. The first step is up to you! If the intake paperwork has not been completed prior to the first appointment, I ask that clients arrive 20-30 minutes prior to their appointment to complete it.

Once in session, the first appointment is a chance for us to learn more about each other and for you to learn how therapy might be helpful for you. I will gather more detailed information about you and learn about any current difficulties. I will probably take notes during our session. I adhere to strict confidentiality laws and my charts do not leave my locked office.
