In partnership with interfaith communities and others, Troy Area United Ministries provides a safe and just space for those in need, offering meals, HIV/AIDS services, furniture, education, spiritual counseling and advocacy. The Troy Damien Center is a hospitality center for persons infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
The center provides meals, social and recreational opportunities, peer support, education, and referral. The Furniture Program provides good, used furniture, free of charge, to families in need, including the working poor, women and their dependent children fleeing domestic violence, families leaving homeless shelters, persons with disabilities and the elderly poor.
We are in desperate need of beds (any size), dressers, tables and chairs. To donate, good, used furniture, please contact Tyara Burnett, Program Director, at 518-274-5920 x204.
