Conant Associates LLC is a Christian Counseling organization comprised of Dick and Bev Conant. They started in the counseling profession in 1982 under the mentorship of Robert McGee, M.S. Robert was working on a book entitled "Search for Significance" at the time. Dick took over the leadership of the out-patient counseling offices in Houston. Dick and Bev witnessed God grow this ministry to 35+ therapists and 7 staff members over the next 15 years.
They moved to Kittery, Maine in 2011, and more recently moved their office to 12 Pleasant Avenue, in Sanford, Maine. See our directions page for help in getting to our office. Their counseling approach is Solution Oriented: We help you set goals, make changes, and grow rather than getting stuck in endless discussions about "the problem." We are confident in the power of God's word to bring about positive changes in your life and relationships.
Dick works with couples and adults. Bev works with children through play therapy, adolescents and adults.

Services
At this point in my life I'm concerned with how people do relationships - how they relate to (or see) themselves, their family, their neighbors, their fellow employees, and their God.
It's a privilege to be "invited" into one's personal life to understand and appreciate how that individual is interpreting what is happening to them and to walk with them through their journey and figure out various helpful things along the way to make that journey easier and less conflicted.
Earlier in my professional life I believed that I had a lot of answers for everyone; ask me a question.

Play Therapy is a special area of counseling that enable us to work with children all the way down to 3 and 4 years of year.
Kids can talk and express themselves through their play.
Unlike adults they seem to know what they need and get into their therapeutic play very quickly once safety and stability occur.
If you have questions about how Play Therapy works go to our FAQ section.

Sometimes simply going onto the insurer's website and looking for a "Find A Provider" search link is possible.
Clients with insurance simply pay a co-payment and we submit the claim forms to their insurance company as a courtesy.
However, there is an understanding that clients are ultimately responsible for their sessions fees should insurance not pay for some reason ie.
