Laurie is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist in the North Dallas area. She has over 20 years experience providing counseling for families, children, adolescents and adults. Laurie works with children using play therapy in a large therapeutic playroom. Adolescents and older children utilize activity therapy such as art and games to process their feelings and learn new coping skills.
Adults are seen in a warm, comfortable office environment. In 2020, Laurie incorporated a telehealth option for her clients. She uses her HIPPA- Compliant SimplePractice portal to confidentially meet with individuals via video. Meeting in person is preferred but teletherapy is a great option if we are unable to. In this space, individuals feel safe to share and work through their concerns and learn how to cope better with life's challenges.

Laurie has been counseling children, adolescents and adults in private practice since April of 2006.
Laurie has always been passionate about helping others and is fortunate to be doing something she loves.
Laurie graduated in 1996 with a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from Texas Tech University.
She went on to pursue her Masters in Education, specializing in Counseling and Student Services and Play Therapy from the University of North Texas in 1999.
In 2002, Laurie received her license to provide counseling in the State of Texas and has been providing counseling to children, adolescents and adults since this time.

Individual Counseling: In a one on one relationship, Laurie facilitates the exploration and resolution of personal problems and issues according to the needs of the individual.
From the initial assessment, Laurie will listen carefully to the needs of the client and then in collaboration with the client determine a treatment plan.
Throughout the course of counseling, goals will be re-evaluated to ensure the counseling experience is meeting the needs of the client and working towards achieving success.
