I believe how people think about their lives affects the way they feel about themselves and their life experiences which, in turn, affects how they behave. I believe helping people to find meaning, purpose and satisfaction in their relationships and in their life experiences is an important aspect of counseling. I am very interested in learning from and traveling to indigenous cultures around the world to expand my understanding of mental and spiritual health in my efforts to support my clients' growth.
I am a Cognitive-Behavioral Therapist with over 30 years of experience helping people deal with individual, relationship and family challenges. I work with children and adults and I specialize in, among other issues, depression, anxiety, grief, anger management, communication skills, conflict resolution, self-esteem, work-and school-related challenges, effective mindfulness practices as well as helping clients find wholesome and healing meaning in their lives.
For the past 10 years, Dr. Farley has traveled to India and, in 2012, to Nepal to work with educators and students on topics that include child development, the power of student-teacher relationships, effective classroom management skills as well as the integration of traditional Tibetan Buddhist values with modern academics.
