Welcome to the counseling practice of Sarah Hills, Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Addictions Counselor, and Certified ARISE Interventionist. I offer a supportive and safe environment in which we work together to help you regain the serenity and balance that may have gotten lost. People seek therapy for any number of reasons - depression, anxiety, stress, grief and loss, difficult or unresolved issues from childhood, relationship discord, addiction - and I help them.

I offer counseling and therapy for those living in Larimer and Boulder counties, and the Northern Colorado/Front Range region in general. I am passionate about working with those people who are ready to pursue new ways of relating and changing old patterns. Whether you are looking for counseling for yourself, your family or your relationships, I can help.

If you are looking for help coping with a painful incident, anxiety, depression, or grief, I can help. If you have, or someone you love has, issues with substance abuse/addiction, or are in need of an intervention, I can help.
Services
Counseling is one of the most important things you can do for yourself.
Whether you are an addict looking to overcome drug/alchohol abuse, or suffering from depression, or looking for a way to work through relationships with families, friends, or co-workers, counseling is a tremendous step in the right direction.
As you are choosing a therapist, it is always important to ask about credentials, education, background, and therapeutic style.
As a private practitioner, I provide counseling and therapy to people with varying needs and backgrounds.
My clients have a variety of needs and I have been fortunate to be able to offer help.
Prior to moving into private practice, my main focus was working with families and individuals in the addicton treatment field.
This included work in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
If you've never been in therapy before, it can feel daunting to call and to come in for the first time.
The following description will give you a very brief introduction as to what you can expect.
Keep in mind this is only for example purposes.
Your specific situation will lead to a personalized scenario.
Initially, we get started with a 15-minute complimentary phone consultation.
During this conversation, we'll discuss your background and what challenges in your life are bringing us together.
I'll ask you your expectations of me, and what you hope to achieve through therapy.
Many people have questions about the process of counseling.
Here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions.
How long is a session?
Each individual session is typically 60 minutes.
We will establish a schedule based on your specific needs.
Anything shorter tends to leave you feeling like you didn't get enough time, while anything longer tends to leave both parties a little exhausted.
Of course, each individual is unique and we can set up a customized schedule if we both agree it will be beneficial.
