If you (or your loved one) have been trying without success to cope with emotional pain, relationship issues, or significant stress and anxiety, counseling may provide relief and insight. In your sessions you and your therapist will work to identify and resolve problems (sometimes hidden in plain sight) that may be contributing to negative feelings or difficult relationships, and learn proven skills for coping with distress and relieving psychic pain.

Where it seems appropriate, you may focus on noticing and altering relational patterns that are maintaining conflict with mates or family members. When it may be helpful (as with major depression, for example), your therapist can discuss the benefits and side effects of medication, and may refer you to a prescriber if you are so inclined. To get started, you may wish to review the Insurance and Payment page on this site, then call or email to set up an initial appointment.

During the first session you and your therapist will generally complete paperwork, briefly review whatever problem has brought you in, and start getting to know each other.
Services
Courage doesn't always roar.
Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I'll try again tomorrow.
Reaching out is the 1st step toward feeling relief and achieving personal, family or professional goals.
Therapy offers private time with support to take a fresh look at your situation and evaluate options.
My expertise is in supporting recovery after stressful or traumatic events.
Both recent exposure and old wounds can be healed.
My approach to therapy is compassionate, flexible and creative in technique and style.
Most clients pay for counseling through their health insurance plans.
We collect reimbursement directly from the insurance companies, so generally your out-of-pocket expenses are limited to your deductible and any copayments or coinsurance.
These payments are due at each session.
Deductible: The amount you pay before your insurance begins picking up costs.
For example, if you have a $1000 annual deductible, you will pay the full fee for health care services (including psychotherapy) until you have paid $1000 out-of-pocket.
