Cove Counseling is an association of five licensed mental health counselors: Belinda Alma. Paul Belvitch, Mitzi Brown, James Fry, and Tom Moore. All are members of the American Association of Christian Counselors. Cove Counseling is located in the Harbor Professional Center on the southeast corner of Harbor Blvd and US 41 in Port Charlotte, FL. Between the five of us we have decades of experience in helping couples, families, children, adolescents, and adults. We have expertise in helping people with marital and family issues, depression, anxiety, grief, codependency, and recovery from childhood abuse as well as many other issues too numerous to list. Above all, our relationships with God and His Word inform our hearts and minds about the significance of human struggles, their source, and their solution.
Services
Belinda holds a Master of Science Degree in Counseling and Psychology and has 26 years of experience in counseling.
She is Bilingual and fluent in Spanish.
Her specialties include Women's Issues, Domestic Violence, Rehabilitation of Incarcerated Offenders, Substance Abuse Recovery, Thought Disorders, Depression, Anxiety, Mood Disorders, Anger Management, and Employee Assistance.
The counseling services she offers are Individuals and Couples Counseling, Family Counseling, Group Counseling, and Counseling for Veterans.
Paul Belvitch is licensed by the state of Florida as a Mental Health Counselor/Psychotherapist and works with adults, couples and adolescents.
He received his Master of Arts in Counseling from Liberty University (1992) and his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Eastern Michigan University (1985).
He is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors and the Florida Mental Health Counselors Association.
Paul has worked in agencies in Orange County, Florida, providing services to high risk, low income families as well as providing addiction education and therapy to inmates in the Orange county correctional facilities.
James Fry is a Graduate of the Master of Arts degree program in Christian Psychology and Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary in Ashland, Ohio, in conjunction with Emerge Counseling Center in Akron, Ohio.
He has over 30 years of experience in Christian ministry, counseling and therapy.
He has been a full-time psychotherapist counseling individuals, marriages, families, children and adolescents in Ohio and Florida since 1983.
He has also served as an inpatient therapist at Riverside Behavioral Center in Punta Gorda, Florida, and as a therapist and supervisor of therapists at Peace River Outward Bound, where he worked with adolescent males referred by the courts.
Thomas Moore, D. Min. is a licensed and ordained minister in addition to being a Licensed Mental Health Counselor through the state of Florida.
He holds degrees from Florida Baptist College in Graceville, Florida, New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Golden Gate Baptist theological Seminary in Mill Valley, California.
Tom's years as a pastor have provided ongoing opportunities for counseling and coaching individuals, couples, families, groups, and adolescents in a broad range of life events.
