Services
There's an old saying that you have to take care of yourself because no one else will.
Too often though, people who are hurting and struggling inside keep turning to other people and other things trying to feel better.
They typically find one disappointment after another and, in the end, are right back where they started.
We know that making the call and walking in the door to work with a counselor can be overwhelming, scary, or even embarrassing.
That's why, right from the start, our clinicians work to create a relaxed, safe atmosphere where you can feel confident that they offer compassionate support and professional help, judgment-free.
Do you miss the great relationship that you used to have?
Are you tired of fighting to be heard only to end up feeling more misunderstood and unseen than ever?
Do you wish they would see how you're hurting and how much you still love them?
Are you lonely even though they are sitting right there?
Sometimes relationships struggle.
You find yourself waking up already feeling disconnected and unseen by your partner.
You find yourself missing them but being glad when they aren't around.
Things may seem ok, but you know that under the surface, neither of you is happy.
Sexuality is core part of being human.
And because it is something we all experience, it has the potential to be an enormous source of connection and fulfillment.
Sometimes though, it isn't.
Things don't work, partners struggle, insecurities plague us, problematic behaviors arise, or we find ourselves otherwise unhappy with our sexual selves.
All of this can leave you feeling inadequate, anxious, sad, disconnected, alone, unwanted, unworthy, and - ultimately - hopeless.
Our approach to sexual issues is to help our clients develop a vision of their sexual health and to support them in implementing this vision through skill building, education, and personal growth.
My earliest recollection is that I wanted to be a forest ranger up in a tower watching for wildfires.
Over the years, I've been involved in emergency response services, day care, senior care, family and truancy mediation, 911 dispatching, and a few other jobs.
The one consistent feature is that they were all about helping people.
And that's what I do now.
So why be a therapist instead of something else?
I believe that mental health therapy is creates some of the greatest opportunities for meaningful and enduring change in someone's life.
When I started my college education, my interests were pretty broad.
I wanted to help solve crimes as a forensic anthropologist and also wanted to get a doctorate and go into sports medicine.
Then there was my love of both creative writing and my passion for singing.
As I've pursued my education to better understand how the human brain works, I began to notice that the subjects we need to talk about the most are often the things for which we lack the language to say.
I set out with a mission to offer a voice to those who had something to say.
