New Beginnings also specializes in treating adults with depression and adolescents with self-esteem and mental health issues.
New Beginnings works with pre-teens and adolescents ages 11 to 18, on a broad array of issues, in both individual and family therapy.
Adolescents can be resistant to participate in therapy to help with emotional health.
New Beginnings has found a way to effectively engage, connect with and motivate even the most unwilling therapy participant.
New Beginnings approach to therapy with pre-teens and adolescents uses a strength-based theory, that incorporates the minor's interests into treatment.
While New Beginning's will often work with pre-teens and adolescents in individual therapy, we also include parents.
Seeking therapy is a big decision and it is important that you find a therapist who is the right fit.
This means, not only finding a therapist with the expertise you need, but also with whom you can feel comfortable.
In addition to providing specialized treatment for anxiety, stress and depression, New Beginnings also works with individuals on a range of life and relationship issues.
Life transitions and stressors: divorce, separation, new relationship, moves, job changes, medical diagnoses.
New Beginning's approach to individual therapy uses evidenced-based models, such as, but not limited to cognitive behavioral therapy, positive psychology and mindfulness.
New Beginnings believes that parent involvement for children is a critical aspect of the therapy process.
Working with families is a very important piece in therapy, especially with minor clients.
When working with children, it is essential to include parents and at times the entire family system in the treatment, depending on the situation as it relates to minor's therapy.
This may entail bringing a parent into the last 5-10 minutes of a weekly individual session or scheduling monthly parent or family meetings.
