Education and psychotherapy have formed the skeleton of life in my view. Richness of exposures and depth of trainings make for the best therapists: at least I have believed this for years. With a Ph. D. in a field allied to therapy, I had already spent 16 years teaching, at UCLA, USC, and Antioch University West when I decided to return to school for clinical training.
I specialized in children and families as a base: I knew I would go on for postgraduate work. I studied one psychoanalytic program for adults and became board certified: at the same time, I took another and did three of four years' psychoanalytic training for children and adolescents. My approach is developmental because that is how each of us grows.
We are a mixture of body and psyche, and many influences that touch us through life. But contrary to single orientation, I have adopted strengths from 'cognitive behavioralists' to compliment my other training. Hopefully, the breadth of knowledge and depth of trainings will be why you come to me.
