The Couple Zone
We do not accept insurance but our counseling is affordable. Most clients find that they can complete counseling with us for less than their deductible amount, and thus would not be reimbursed even if we accepted insurance. Couples also have the option of attending every other week to help make it more affordable. Couple distress is the single most common precursor for seeking counseling.

It doesn't have to be a catastrophe or a major event in a relationship to prompt seeking help. Like your health, relationships take constant attention and expert counsel when you notice something is off. Some individuals, often men, are afraid they will be blamed if they come to counseling. We DO NOT blame either partner. We realize there are two sides to every story.

If either of you are unsure, consider committing to only one session initially to get to know your counselor, see if it feels like a good fit, and explore how your counselor can help you reach your goals. The Couple Zone specializes in couples counseling.
Services
The dominant type of marriage counseling is intended to help couples learn better problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
While improving these skills in relationship can be helpful in deescalating arguments, they don't actually address the underlying roots of disconnection between couples, the disconnection causing the deepest issues in the relationship.
At The Couple Zone, we are trained in well-researched relationship and trauma approaches.
At our core is a focus on emotion.
We believe failed attempts of relating well with each other, rather than individual personality or character flaws, cause issues in relationships.
We do not accept insurance but offer affordable counseling services.
Most clients find that they can complete counseling with us for less than their deductible amount.
Let's say your deductible for counseling is $2000.
Most of our clients complete counseling before they reach that amount.
We increasingly find that clients want their counseling information records protected at a level that does not include going through insurance.
By not accepting insurance we do not "file" anything about your counseling to anyone.

Below is a list of common occurrences (but certainly not exhaustive) that signal to couples they could benefit from professional guidance.
If there's been something that has come between you, a disagreement or a fight about something important you haven't resolved, we're here to help.
We know venturing into marriage counseling or relationship counseling can come with lots of questions.
We're here to help and answer any questions or concerns you may have.

The length of treatment is determined on a case by case basis.
The average distressed couple may be in therapy for 8-13 sessions, which is considered short-term therapy in this field.
It is perfectly reasonable to ask about a therapist's training and specialties before deciding on with whom to make an appointment.
You may be surprised to learn that a lot of counselors have received little training in treating couples.
And yet they readily take on couples as clients.
If you are considering couples counseling, it's a very good idea to know what kind of training credentials potential counselors hold.
Think about it: A lawyer from Harvard may be fantastic if you are facing court and need a lawyer.
