Individuals and couples come to see me to feel better. They want to understand their confusion and get relief from emotional pain and relational distress. I am an experienced licensed psychotherapist who uses a Jungian, symbolic, analytic, and a warm relational approach. Together, we will collaborate carefully to explore your experience. We will look for meaning, not judgment and orient towards wholeness, not perfection.
The result of this work can be less anxiety, increased contentment, better communication, restored hope, and a more vibrant sense of life's purpose. I offer a Jungian analytic style that makes use of dreamwork and other symbolic methods for individuals interested in a deep analytic style therapy. Couples benefit from my warm, relational, and direct manner.

Services
My psychotherapy practice is informed by the work of Carl Jung.
This type of analytic therapy is in the service of your unique individuation.*
The goal of individuation is to discover who you are and how that might be different from the roles family, culture, and work want you to be.
Depth analytic psychotherapy is an exploration of how you optimally function.
We look to your dreams, fantasies, and spontaneously generated images for guidance.
We transform fear into inquiry using curiosity.
We develop ways to talk about what you are experiencing and discover the meanings in symptoms, and beliefs.

Each couple has their own unique way of being together.
We seek to understand how you optimally function as a couple.
We explore the unpleasant conflicts that keep you painfully apart.
We look at problematic behavior cycles and find more effective ways to communicate your needs.
A more conscious communication style can lead to more intimate and fulfilling relationships.

Carl Jung was a Swiss psychiatrist who founded analytic psychoanalysis.
As a psycho-spiritual pioneer he is often called the father of transpersonal psychotherapy.
He worked with Freud in the early 20th Century and was groomed to become the heir apparent to Freud's legacy.
Jung had some fundamental differences with Freud which lead to a painful break in 1912.
Jung experienced the dark night of the soul from which he developed a psychological attitude of the human psyche that was expansive not reductive resulting in a pathological diagnosis.

Images and symbols are the language of the psyche.
They are powerful experiences that emerge as we pay attention to thoughts, feelings, dreams, and bodily sensations.
Images can be visual, mental, auditory, or a felt sense to name a few.
Images can suggest new directions and possibilities.
Paying attention to symbolic imagery can generate energy, inspire action and lead one out of darkness into the light.
Images are doorways to a deeper understanding of the Self.
