Canyon Pines Counseling, located in the heart of downtown Parker, Colorado, is a counseling center dedicated to serving individuals, couples and families in their pursuit of health and well-being. We strive to meet each and every person where they are in their personal journey in life. The therapists of Canyon Pines Counseling, CPC, take a collaborative approach with their clients to meet the goals each individual seeks to accomplish in therapy.

Our team of compassionate professional therapists have over 30 years of experience in the fields of psychology, school psychology and clinical social work with various backgrounds and modalities of expertise to bring the best and most comprehensive treatment to our clients. Canyon Pines Counseling recognizes and respects the growing and changing landscape of individual needs and what it means to be a in a loving relationship and how our families may grow and change over time.

I'm excited to be a part of Canyon Pines and look forward to doing good work with you in healing, growing, and overcoming life's many challenges.
I have worked with children, adolescents, individuals, and families for over 15 years through backcountry guiding, art therapy, adventure education, experiential groups, 12-step programs, and counseling with several diverse populations.
Joining me is my therapy dog, Ponyo, who is certified through the national organization Pet Partners.

I have many years of experience helping people better understand how they can improve their lives and learn more about themselves in the process.
The relationship between the client and therapist is essential in this process and I welcome your call.
I received my Master's Degree from Regis University in Denver.
I have worked in community mental health as well as at Porter Hospital for many years.
I have worked with adults and adolescents throughout my career.
Embarking on a therapeutic journey is a courageous, vulnerable, and worthwhile endeavor.
As a therapist, I am focused on facilitating meaningful conversations to help my clients live more fulfilling and emotionally connected lives.
I believe people have an innate ability to heal and I strive to meet my clients where they are to begin to break out of habitual thoughts and behaviors that keep them stuck.
I specialize in heterosexual and same-sex couples, as well as adult individuals looking to strengthen their relationships with themselves and others.
Layla is a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Colorado and earned her Doctor of Psychology from the University of Colorado, Denver.
She also has a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University.
Layla has familiarity with a variety of mental health conditions and treatment settings including: residential treatment, inpatient hospitalization, partial hospitalization, day treatment, private practice, and public schools.
Layla has a great deal of experience working with people in the LGBTQ+ community as well as specialized training in Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities.

I earned my Master's degree in counseling from Adams State University, Alamosa, Colorado, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor by the State of Colorado.
I have over a decade of experience providing therapeutic interventions and counseling services to individuals, couples, and families of varied economic and cultural backgrounds.
My areas of specialty include anxiety, depression, life transitions, self worth issues, issues related to trauma, processing grief, feeling "stuck", relationship changes (including the stages of separation and divorce), trust issues, conflict resolution, coping skills, issues related to control, and decision making skills.
