Rabinowitz Counseling Services
If you are feeling lost, alone, isolated, and hurt and wanting to connect, communicate and feel like you are on the "same team" with your partner, then I can give you a new lease or opportunity on life and your relationship. Relationships are hard, but you don't have to struggle alone, trying to figure it out on your own. If you are at the start of your relationship or marriage, you can get a head start to develop a strong foundation.

So many of my couples tell me if they knew and understood everything I shared with them, then their lives and relationships would have been so much better. Growing up, I always wanted to be a therapist and help couples experience loving relationships. Being a child of divorce (several divorces), I knew I didn't want to repeat those negative patterns, and I would need to learn communication skills and relationship tools.

Due to the impact of my parents' divorces-I understand the importance of healthy relationships and the impact of unhealthy relationships on both the couple and their children.
Services
I realize that no two people are the same and as such, I tailor my therapy services to meet the specific needs of my clients.
Whether our work together is to improve your relationship, recognize underlying problems, fully realize your strengths and adjust certain behaviors and thoughts or other issues, I'm here to support, empower, guide, and encourage a more balanced, happier you and/or more enduring and loving relationship.
About 10 years ago, I decided to shift my counseling career from the trauma and abuse field to Couples therapy.
At that time, I began researching which couples therapy approaches had the most research, success and impact on couples.
Therefore, I decided to retrain at the Gottman Institute (40 years of research on how to have a successful relationship), PACT, Psychobiological Approach to Couple Therapy, and many other couples approaches.
Finally, I was able to see one of my life's dream come to fruition and focused on Couples.
As children, fairytales make up the stories that swim in our minds about love and marriage: two people meet, fall in love, merge their lives, and live happily ever after.
It's only when real life steps in as adults that we come to a powerful truth about love and how hard it can be to sustain it.
The reality is that two people come to a marriage with their own histories, their own emotional injuries and sensitivities, as well as their own beliefs about love, marriage, divorce and "happily ever after".
Does your relationship feel stale, boring, or missing the aliveness it once had?
Perhaps, the landscape of your marriage took a big turn when you had kids or your career took off?
Maybe you're struggling with intimacy or painful feelings after an affair?
Let's be real for a second.
Couples therapy and marriage counseling are one in the same.
They both deliver relationship support at a deep level to help you (and your partner) reconnect and make the important decisions about the future of your partnership.
Teletherapy or virtual therapy is just what it sounds like: it's therapy on a video screen conducted remotely.
Clients are often at home in a relaxed, comfortable setting making the entire experience more convenient.
At other times, clients may choose to take teletherapy on the road and meet with their counselor at a different location.
Of course, that happened more often in non-pandemic times, but the idea for remote counseling is the same.
On the other end, your counselor (in this case it would be me, Lisa Rabinowitz), meets with you from a private location at her home.
