Each of us has a unique story. Patterns that we live out because of our family of origin and cultural background. Roots that have taken shape based on our experience. Sometimes those roots have enabled us to cope with challenges or survive trauma, but are no longer healthy. Sometimes we need encouragement and support to allow new, healthier ways of being to take root and grow.

For many of us, we will experience times in our life where we need someone else to come alongside us for a season. That time may be caused by grief, loss, abandonment, transition, or a sense of feeling overwhelmed. Sometimes anxiety or depression start to darken our days, and we need a safe place to look at how to address what is causing us pain. Choosing a regular time and space to examine our ways of thinking and how that affects our relationships and the way we are in the world can be the beginning of change.

If any of this resonates with you, please contact me. I welcome the opportunity to see if we might work well together.
Services
I am a lover of words.
I have been captivated by how we share experiences and communicate with each other for as long as I can remember.
This passion has guided me through a range of life experiences, with connection as their common theme.
I earned undergraduate degrees in English and Journalism.
After spending time writing for an advertising agency and then a non-profit, I focused my energies on raising my children.
Reentering the working world as a professional organizer highlighted my love of deeply connecting with people, which led me to pursue becoming a counselor.
My philosophy of counseling is eclectic.
In therapeutic vernacular, my clinical approach is relational and psychodynamic, and is influenced by attachment theory, family systems, object relations, and mindfulness.
In language that may hold more meaning for you, I believe that change and healing come through relationship.
Each of us has the inherent desire to be fully understood by another person.
My goal is to offer you the gift of presence in a space that is sacred in its safety.
My approach is empathic, collaborative, compassionate, and full of curiosity about who you are and what you want.
I offer a 20-minute complimentary conversation, by phone or in person, to discuss what you are looking for and whether we might fit well together.
My fee is $150 for a 50-minute individual session, due at the beginning of our appointment.
The cost for an 80-minute session is $225.
I accept cash, checks, and credit cards.
Some sliding scale spaces are available for those experiencing financial difficulties.
As a fully licensed therapist and out-of-network provider, many insurance companies will provide at least partial reimbursement for my services.
