The search for a counselor is an important step. At The Hazel Counseling Center, PLLC, we offer specialized counseling services to give you support and help you through the steps of resolving emotional distress. Our therapists treat each age group from very young children through different stages of adult development. Treatment areas include but are not limited to: anxiety and depression, trauma, addiction recovery, stress management, family conflict resolution, relationship building and more.

Approaches specific to each age group are used to get the best results from your sessions. For adults this might include talk therapy, education specific to your concerns, increased understanding of how the mind and body work together for the greatest sense of well being, or joint sessions with loved ones to resolve conflict and address issues.

For children and teens therapy might include play therapy, activities designed for parents and children to resolve conflict and restore structure, or use of creative and expressive materials to make opening up easier and more productive.

Connie believes the counseling process begins with the idea that each person wants to work past current challenges and has the ability to grow and change given a helpful provider and appropriate intervention.
She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Registered Play Therapy-Supervisor, a Qualified Supervisor in Mental Health and Family Therapy and and a Certified Brainspotting Therapist.
She has more than 20 years of experience working with clients in a variety of settings including advocacy work and community education, and founded The Hazel Counseling Center for Families and Children, PLLC in 2008.
We work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues providing services that span from therapy for depression and grief counseling to parenting support, couples counseling, trauma and beyond.
In a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, you will receive a highly personalized approach tailored to your specific needs to help attain the personal growth you or your loved ones are hoping for.
The therapists at the Hazel Counseling Center are trained in multiple treatment methods to help people get relief from symptoms of PTSD.
Most trauma that is unresolved becomes stored in the central nervous which includes both the mind and the body.
Thoughts, feelings and physical sensations related to the original event all become opportunities to understand what needs to be processed in order to restore a better sense of well being.
There are a variety of ways to do this therapeutically.
Below are a few of those options.
Do you worry about work constantly when you're at home, or feel anxious and tense even about small events?
Is your mind riddled with a powerless sense of imminent danger, a place where rising panic can be difficult to quell?
These signs and symptoms are common in those suffering from a medical condition called anxiety disorder.
While difficult anxiety symptoms can affect many aspects of your life, there is hope for a calm and serene horizon.
I've been supporting clients with anxiety disorder for years.
Do you feel heavy with despair, struggling each day to keep your head just above the darkness and dread?
While it may seem difficult to find your way back to hope and happiness, I've been helping clients to personally do just that for years.
To experience the joy of warm sunshine on their face, to reconnect with estranged loved ones, and to re-engage with a meaningful life.
Just like other chronic illnesses, depression is not your fault, it's nothing you've caused.
And also like many other illnesses, effective treatments exist to help ease and eliminate the struggles you face.
