I am licensed in Utah as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CMHC) and in Massachusetts as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I specialize in the treatment of pornography and sexual addiction for addicts and their spouses/partners. I have been assisting addicts with recovery in a variety of capacities since the early 1980's, including treatment of alcoholism, drug addiction, eating disorders and sexual addiction.
This experience includes working in a variety of settings including in-patient psychiatric hospital units, intensive day treatment for mental disorders and addiction, and community mental health agencies. And, how severe do problems have to be for a person to feel he/she needs treatment?
Answering these questions is a deeply personal process and can be complicated.
However, a starting point is to ask yourself if you have experienced distressful consequences due to your sexual behavior, have wanted and tried to stop, but have been unable to consistently abstain from that behavior.

I encourage group members to stay in touch with each other outside of the group to provide ongoing support throughout treatment and beyond.
