I believe what we need most to heal is already within us. Often our most positive, lasting outcomes happen when we explore what we most avoid or fear to be negative. Working with these aspects leads to true transformation. We thrive when we are liberated from the desire to be free of our emotions, tune into them, and allow them to be fully experienced.

I am currently only providing services by telehealth and look forward to returning to in-person sessions soon. I will continue to offer telehealth as a service for all current and future clients. I provide counseling services for mental health. In addition to traditional talk therapy, I have completed EMDR training and can provide this virtually.
Services
I'm Andrew Burdette, professional counselor and substance abuse professional, partner, friend, family member, fly fisher, film nerd, audio and music buff.
I came to counseling first as someone wanting to be free of feeling terrified of my own emotions, feeling anxious and inept about a lot of things in life.
As a client of therapy, I have had good and bad experiences with therapists.
Client - Therapist "fit" matters as much or more than whatever training or degrees a therapist may have.
I work well with clients challenged by anxiety, depression, substance use, overwhelming life transitions, relationship health and quality, or self-esteem because at different points, I have had to face these challenges myself.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapeutic method for helping people heal from troubling life experiences.
It's not uncommon to feel like there's a block in the way of being able to move past a difficult past experience, keeping you stuck and unable to heal the wound.
EMDR taps your natural tendency and ability to heal from psychological and emotional wounds, remove blocks, and restore your sense of safety and balance.
If you have further questions about what EMDR is, how it is understood to work, and what issues it can be used to address, please contact me for more information.
