I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in private practice in the San Francisco Bay Area. I provide individual therapy for culturally diverse individuals-from college-age to adults. I specialize in addressing a range of concerns including anger management and relationship difficulties, and in managing symptoms of depression and anxiety.

My particular interest and experience is with multicultural, multi-racial, and multi-ethnic individuals, or those connected to them, as they work through cross-cultural differences in their relationships and daily lives. I have practiced in various parts of the United States, holding an active license in Washington, D.C., and formerly in Illinois.

This exposure helps me attend to a wider range of American perspectives and to recognize lifestyle differences.
Services
As a first generation Asian-American of Cantonese and Thai descent, understanding my multiple identities has shaped my professional and personal perspective.
Multiple trips to Hong Kong and Thailand throughout my childhood exposed me to my parents' homelands, their culture and values-I was in constant study of Eastern and Western worlds.
While my American way of life is distinctly different, subtle Chinese and Thai values shaped me, my interactions, and the need to understand people through multiple lenses.
I strongly believe in supporting social service workers and educators so they can continue their work with clear minds for future generations.
Therefore, a sliding scale is available for individual sessions on a needs basis.

Please check your coverage benefits as most health insurance providers reimburse out-of-network services.
My professional training in therapy is humanistic and client-centered focused, which means it's important for me to completely and wholly understand your unique experiences and present concerns as the building blocks in addressing your challenges.
I strive to understand the nuances and details that express what is salient and impactful in your daily life and provide support, perspective, and acceptance to foster your innate capacity for clarity and growth.
The framework of my practice considers identity through culture, ethnicity, gender, and sexuality because these directly impact our relationships and behavior patterns, our coping mechanisms, and emotional reactions.
Client-Centered Therapy (CCT), also known as the Person-Centered Approach, is an approach to people that is rooted in anthropological, epistemological and ethical perspectives.
Pioneered and developed in the mid-20th century by the late Dr. Carl Rogers, CCT was a radical form of therapy that placed trust in a person's natural self-actualizing tendency towards growth and change.
In contrast to the predominant behavioral and psychoanalytic approaches which expresses the therapist as the expert and the client as a passive learner, CCT believes the client is best able to decide what to explore and how to do it.
