SouthView Counseling
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I have experience working with adolescents and adults, providing a variety of counseling services in group and individual settings. I place a strong emphasis on the therapeutic-alliance to create a supportive and caring environment for growth and change. My non-judgmental, strength-based approach will help us work together to achieve the life you want.

I enjoy working with people from all different backgrounds and paths. I find working with young-adults and members of the LGBTQ+ community especially rewarding. I like to meet individuals where they are at in life and support them in navigating their understandings and next steps. I have experience working with individuals who have chronic mental illness, as well as those who are new to counseling and not sure how to begin.

Depression can feel like a heavy blanket, weighing you down.
You can sit in the same spot for hours, thinking about nothing.
You might feel as though taking care of daily tasks are exhausting or meaningless.
You assume everyone is bothered by your mood or that you're holding them back, so you stay home and away from responsibilities.
Getting caught in a cycle of feeling worthless and hopeless, leading you to act accordingly.
If this sounds like you, there is help.
Therapy has proven to be effective and helpful in managing depression.
Anxiety can look and feel different for everyone.
You can feel rushed and pressured, while your heart is pounding.
Other times, you might feel hot and irritable like a volcano ready to explode.
You might also hide (physically or internally) and shut down while your body feels paralyzed or like you are floating away.
Most people do not talk about their anxiety because of stigmas, the fear of uncomfortable conversations, fear of judgments, and because you think it is easier to keep it hidden.
Keeping silent is only a temporary solution and can lead to long-term problems; think of the volcano ready to explode.
The worst years of your life when enemies are your friends your friends are your family and your family is your enemy.
Teenagers and young-adults who are struggling with their mental health can present in different ways.
Hiding in their room all day and playing on their phone instead of completing homework and then explaining they don't have any time.
Going from calm to angry and screaming or crying in the blink of an eye.
Constant ups and downs with friends.
Silence at the dinner table, sneaking out, making poor, impulsive choices.
Life skills training to manage intense emotions, tolerate distress, communicate effectively, and be mindful of the present moment.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy is a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy that is used to treat people with a wide variety of difficulties including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, and other problems in living.
Originally developed in the 1980s at the University of Washington to help people with chronic suicidal and self-injurious thinking and urges, this approach is now widely used to create real and lasting changes for clients with many different types of mental and chemical health problems.
