I decided to become a psychologist in large part by the wonderful years I spent working and volunteering with the YMCAs of southern California.
Some of my most cherished moments were spent at Camp Oakes in the San Bernadino Mountains near Big Bear Lake where I came to value community, nature, and myself.
I left my family and hometown of Long Beach, California and moved to Provo, Utah where I earned a doctorate degree in clinical psychology from Brigham Young University.
My life again was forever changed when I was a therapist for Aspen Achievement Academy, a therapeutic wilderness program in southern Utah.

EFT is an empirically validated, humanistic and short-term, psychotherapeutic approach to working with couples.
EFT was founded by Dr. Sue Johnson, the author of "Hold Me Tight": Seven Conversations for a Lifetime of Love", who spent her career studying couples to understand what is truly important that allows couples to feel close to each other.
With 3 phases and 9 steps, EFT focuses on creating and strengthening the emotional bond between partners that promote an adult loving relationship: being open, attuned, and responsive to each other.

I work with adults who are ready to take the next step in their lives and desire to move beyond their worries, stress, anger, depression, bad habits, addictions, and/or past trauma.
