We all face stress at some point in our lives. It may be caused by transitions or major life events such as physical illness, becoming a parent, losing a loved one, going through a traumatic event, relationship issues, or work stress. Psychotherapy aims to help you understand your emotions towards better control of them, improve your experience of life, change unhealthy behaviors, relieve emotional distress, improve your role in relationships, and cope with stressors.
Services
I am a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of California (PSY 25228), specializing in psychotherapy for adults, children, and families.
My approach to working with clients is collaborative and from a strength-based model.
I aim to be respectful of your individual strengths, struggles, and goals.
I utilize your strengths and integrate conceptualization and techniques from different approaches towards achieving your goals including: Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), family systems, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Functional Family Therapy (FFT).
I specialize in treatment of anxiety disorders (general anxiety, social anxiety, phobias, panic disorder, OCD), depression, grief and bereavement, pregnancy- and postpartum-related issues, and trauma.
As children grow, they are faced with social, emotional, relational, and academic experiences that shape their overall development, and being a teen is a particularly challenging time filled with unique stressors and pressures.
I work with children, teens, and parents on a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, bullying, trauma (abuse, grief, etc.), behavioral issues, self-esteem development, and difficult relationships (with parents and/or others).
There are enough barriers to receiving mental health support like a busy family and/or work schedule and commuting.
To alleviate a barrier, I now offer therapy sessions via a secured video platform that you can access from a computer or phone.
For most cases, I recommend that the initial sessions take place in-person to establish rapport and to collaborate with you to determine therapeutic goals before transitioning to teletherapy.
Please contact me for more details.
I accept private pay clients and clients who are using their out-of-network benefits.
If you are using your out-of-network benefits for insurance, a super-bill can be provided for submission to your insurance company.
Please contact your insurance company for reimbursement rates.
Please contact me 48 hours in advance if you cannot make your appointment.
If 48 hour advance notice is not met, you will be charged the full cost of the therapy session.
